I had an iPhone dream.
Published July 10th, 2008 in 3G, AT&T, iPhoneLast night, I had a dream about the new iPhone.
The date was today, Thursday. The day before launch. I walked into a local dollar store to get some paper plates. At the checkout, I look over and notice a box in the corner shelf. Full of iPhones.
I frantically run over to them. You would think in my dream they were all marked $1. Nope, full price. I guess we’ve all come to expect paying in full when it comes to Apple, so it’s a subconscious thing now.
The iPhones are in all of the typical iPod colors… green, pink, blue, black, white, silver, etc. The box is marked ‘Product Testing Phones. Irregular.’ Oh well, good enough for me. I grab a black 8gb and head back to the register. But I get to the register and decide I want something different. I run back to the box. By this time, there are lots of people around the box. I fight my way back in. I find a silver 16gb iPhone.
Then I try to call Joe to see if he wants me to grab him one so we don’t have to camp out. He’s in route from Baltimore to Indy though, so I can’t get ahold of him.
I go home, activate it through iTunes (yeah right, in my dreams, haha). And as I am setting my phone up, I start playing with the ringtones. The ringtone gets louder… and louder… and louder……
Then my wife slaps me in the arm and says “HEY. Shut off your alarm. I’m trying to sleep.”
Ahhhh. 24 hours. Are you excited?
Haha, you are such a nerd! Does Jen know you dream about Joe? No seriously, I’m pumped too! I just hope that I can get one before I have to be at work for Freshmen Orientation. Good luck to you guys, I’m routing for you!
I always expected that 25 days in you’d say, “I’ve found that I really don’t need an iPhone.”
Good Luck camping out, tell Joe I said, “What Up”
Honestly, I almost did. I had to really weigh the advantages/disadvantages of the increase in pricing/text messages costing. I considered going that route, but I thought about how convenient and much easier life is with it, especially when traveling or in a new area.
What’s the better ending? The ‘I don’t need it’ or the epic night towards the new Holy Grail?
